Classroom Netiquette Guidelines:
Post-Primary Students Guide to
Successful Internet Manners and Etiquette
When Emailing: Keep
messages short and to the point (people, especially teachers, have many more
emails to go through!
Try to avoid slang
and improper grammar. (You never know who might view your stuff. Future Boss?)
If you’re not ok
with the whole world seeing it, do not post it.
Do not take someone
else’s work and say it’s your own. Cite your sources and don’t plagiarize.
Be careful with
humor and sarcasm. Some people may not understand it and will take it the wrong
way.
Only send personal
information to sources and organizations you know you can trust.
Don’t be afraid to
express your opinion. However, do it in a respectable, well-mannered way.
Try to respond to
emails as soon as possible. It will show people you respect their time, and can
help you avoid forgetting about it later.
Do not use foul
language. No exceptions.
